Stop Your AI Agent From Shipping Generic UI and Filler Copy

You've seen it. You ask an AI coding agent for a landing page and it hands back a sparkle logo, a "NEXT-GEN AI 2.0 beta" pill, and a fake terminal reporting 0.0001ms latency. Ask for a launch post and you get emoji bullet points and hype in every line. The code comes back with box-drawing section banners and a comment on every constant that just restates the constant.

That's slop, and it's remarkably consistent across tools. Anti Slop is a rulebook for AI coding agents that filters it out before it ships.

What It Does

Anti Slop is a set of rules that stops an AI coding agent from producing generic UI, filler copy, and AI-shaped code. The project is explicit about what it is: a filter, not a style guide. It doesn't prescribe colors, fonts, or layouts, and it doesn't take creative direction away from you. It just removes the things that shouldn't be there in the first place.

It ships as standard agent skills, meaning one folder per skill, each holding a SKILL.md file. The README shows the project applied across three areas—UI, copy, and code—with before-and-after comparisons for each. There's also a separate copywriting skill, antislop-copywriting, demonstrated on a Discord launch post. The repo is MIT licensed and versioned via GitHub releases, and it's listed on skills.sh.

Why It's Cool

  • It draws a clean line between filtering and directing. The README's comparison table makes this distinction the whole point. Run a brief with nothing at all and you get the sparkle-logo landing page. Run it with Anti Slop alone and you get honest copy on a restrained layout—plain, because beauty isn't the filter's job. Run it with a DESIGN.md alone and you get a photographic hero with the direction landing, but the stat cards still reading "10,000% ROI Synergy Multiplier." Only Anti Slop plus DESIGN.md produces something both clean and directed.

  • It's honest about its own limits. That plainness note is refreshing. Plenty of tools would claim to fix both the slop and the aesthetics. Anti Slop says the filter removes what shouldn't be there, and DESIGN.md fills the space that leaves. Neither manages it alone. That's a useful thing to know before you install it.

  • The examples are concrete and specific. The before-and-after pairs aren't vague. The UI comparison calls out the fake terminal and the invented numbers. The copy example shows emoji bullets and "NEW DROP" in capitals, then the same post in plain sentences with a note to cut any line with nothing real to say. The code example shows Python with emoji and redundant comments, then the same Python with the banners gone and one comment left that says what the module does—the code itself untouched.

  • The constraint is the feature. No prescribed colors or layouts means it won't fight your existing design system. It's a filter you can layer onto whatever direction you already have, rather than a framework that wants to own your output.

How to Try It

The README's install section is truncated, but the structure is straightforward: Anti Slop ships as standard agent skills, one folder per skill with a SKILL.md inside. If you've installed agent skills before, this will look familiar.

  1. Head to the repository: https://github.com/miqdadbadjuber/anti-slop
  2. Check the releases page for the current version if you want to pin to a tag.
  3. If you're new to the project, start with GUIDE.md, which the README describes as the from-zero walkthrough.
  4. Install the skills you want—the core Anti Slop rules, and antislop-copywriting if your work involves prose.
  5. Pair it with a DESIGN.md if you have one. The README is clear that this is where the two tools complement each other: the filter removes the slop, the design file supplies the direction.

You can also browse the comparison images directly in the repo. Every image in the README opens full size if you click it, so you can see the before-and-after results at full resolution before deciding whether it's worth installing.

Final Thoughts

Anti Slop is a focused tool with a narrow, well-defined job. It won't make your AI agent produce beautiful work—that's not what it's for, and the README says so plainly. What it will do is stop the most obvious tells from reaching your users: the invented statistics, the hype copy, the decorative comment banners.

If you're already using a design system or a DESIGN.md and you're tired of cleaning up after your agent, this slots in nicely alongside it. If you're looking for something that generates good design from scratch, this isn't that—and it doesn't pretend to be. The honest framing is part of the appeal. Worth a look if you've ever shipped a landing page with a fake latency number on it.
