Ever wanted to experiment with distributed AI but don’t have a rack of GPUs lying around? Meet exo, an open-source project that lets you turn everyday devices—phones, laptops, even smartwatches—into a makeshift AI cluster. No cloud credits required, just the hardware you already own.

What It Does

exo is a lightweight framework for running AI workloads across a network of heterogeneous devices. It pools compute resources from whatever gadgets you have available—your old laptop, a Raspberry Pi, even an idle phone—and distributes tasks like model inference or fine-tuning across them. Think of it as a DIY version of cloud-based AI services, but without the vendor lock-in.
