Posting to 10+ Social Platforms Without Logins, API Keys, or a Single Copy-Paste

You've probably done the dance: write a post, paste it into Zhihu, reformat it for Weibo, resize the images for Xiaohongshu, then repeat for Douyin and everywhere else. It's tedious, and it's exactly the kind of repetitive work that should have been automated years ago. MultiPost is a browser extension that takes a swing at this problem by letting you publish content to more than ten social platforms with a single click—no login, no registration, and no API keys required.

What It Does

MultiPost is a browser extension that publishes content—text, images, videos—to multiple social media platforms at once. The README lists over ten mainstream platforms, including Zhihu, Weibo, Xiaohongshu, Douyin, TikTok, and YouTube. The pitch is straightforward: you edit once, and the extension synchronizes your content across platforms, cutting out the manual copy-paste loop that content creators deal with every day.

There's also a developer-facing side. The extension exposes two kinds of API: an Extension API you can call from your own web app to publish content, and a RESTful API you can call from scripts or servers. That means the tool isn't just for people clicking buttons—it can be wired into your own publishing workflows.

One thing worth knowing upfront: this repository is the Apache-2.0 open-source portion of the extension. The official Chrome and Edge packages are built from a separate monorepo and include a proprietary Agent module that isn't in this repo. This repo maintains source code only and doesn't run release workflows. So what you're looking at here is the open core, not the full shipped product.

Why It's Cool

  • The no-login, no-API-key approach is the interesting part. Most cross-posting tools ask you to authenticate with each platform or hand over API credentials. MultiPost claims you need neither. The README doesn't explain the mechanism, but as a design goal it removes a lot of friction—and a lot of credential management headaches.

  • Two API surfaces, two audiences. The Extension API is aimed at web app developers who want publishing built into their own interfaces. The RESTful API is for scripts and servers. That's a sensible split, and it means the project isn't locked into the "human clicks a button" use case.

  • It's free, and it says so plainly. No trial tiers, no "contact us for pricing" language. For a tool in a space crowded with paid schedulers and social media management suites, that's a meaningful differentiator.

  • The platform list is regionally relevant. Zhihu, Weibo, Xiaohongshu, and Douyin alongside TikTok and YouTube suggests the project is built with Chinese-language creators in mind first—a group that's often underserved by Western cross-posting tools.

  • The open-source/open-core split is at least honest. The README is explicit that the store builds include a module you won't find here. You know exactly what you're getting in the repo versus the packaged extension, which is more transparency than many projects offer.

How to Try It

The fastest path is to install the extension from a store:

  1. Grab it from the Chrome Web Store or the Edge Add-ons store.
  2. Open the extension and start publishing—no account setup required per the README.

Final Thoughts

MultiPost is aimed squarely at content creators who publish the same thing in several places and are tired of doing it by hand. The no-login, no-API-key promise is the hook, and the dual API options give it room to grow beyond a simple click-to-post tool. The caveats are worth keeping in mind: the store builds contain a proprietary module you won't find in this repo, and the README is thin on how the no-credential publishing actually works. Still, if you're juggling a handful of platforms and want to stop copy-pasting, it's a low-cost thing to try—and if you're a developer, the API docs are where the real potential sits.
